Our LGCC Boys seemed a bit all over the place first thing this morning and I was worried if they would do themselves justice in the sun. They then put on their best all round bowling performance of the season!

Every bowler bowled tightly and accurately - only 9 runs conceded to wides and no balls, our lowest of the season (we average over 20!). Taplow had a couple of dangerous players but Leo dislodged their key danger man and then good catches by Harry and Toby off Monty and Myles plus our relentless bowling meant Taplow could not build any real momentum.

80 looked a very simple score to chase (and could have been under 70 with sharper fielding) but crickets a funny game and in our innings a reasonable wicket with a bit of variable bounce suddenly looked like a complete minefield.

Really challenging conditions and Taplow had a strong and varied bowling attack - balls dying, spinning and spittng up! Very hard for our boys to get properly "in" but they stuck to their guns, took every run and extra available and some fireworks by MOTM Leo meant Raefe and Toby could guide us over the line comfortably.
