Littlewick Green Cricket Club is this month celebrating longstanding member Channi Sethi, who has been selected as part of the Indian squad participating in the first ever, over 70s Cricket World Cup!
Channi Sethi has played for Littlewick Green Cricket Club for many years and has passed his passion for the sport down through the generations, with his grandson, also an active member!
Earlier this month, Channi was selected by the Indian squad and will now go on to participate in the World Cup Tournament this summer.
The two-week tournament will commence on July 28th, with the final to be held at Wormsley Cricket Club on Sunday 11th August.
Bill Green, Chairman of Littlewick Green Cricket Club said: “The Club is delighted to see Channi Sethi selected in the Indian squad for the very first over-70s World Cup. Channi has been a hugely popular Club member for many years and with his tight consistent seam bowling, it's no surprise to see him selected to play for India. We are all hugely proud of him and wish him every success.”
The Over 70s World Tournament matches will be played at senior club grounds to the west of London. Seven countries will be participating: England, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Wales.
